It’s essential to take nice photos of your accommodation to get more views andbookings. We know it’s not always easy to showcase certain pieces, but we’re here to help. We’ll give you all the tips you need to create photos that will bring you more visibility!

1. How to take your photos

The basis of a good photo is light andcamera. So try as much as possible to take your photos with a camera. If you don’t have one, the smartphone option is also available, provided the quality is adequate.

For the format, opt for landscape, which gives a feeling of space and lets you show more.

Finally, photograph your home in the daytime if it’s bright, and add a few photos in the evening if it’s interesting (view of a lake, starry sky…). Highlight as much as possible what you like best about your home.

2. What to shoot

All of it! Well, almost. The first thing is to show all the rooms in your home. Customers need to have a global vision of what they’re going to book.

Then, if you’ve got a favorite spot or a few details that mean a lot to you, go for it! But beware: 3 photos of an apartment for 5 photos of the beach, forest or surrounding activities are useless. Here’s a good example.

Make sure you don’t appear in the photos (watch out for mirrors, reflections, etc.).

It’s also a good idea to take photos of your home in all seasons. Especially if the environment changes a lot.

3. How to retouch them?

If your photos look a little dull or you’ve left the mop lying around during your photo shoot, don ‘t panic! Here are a few free applications that will be of great help:

  • Snapseed
  • Enlight
  • VSCO

Retouching your photos may take a little time, but remember: beautiful photos attract more people and therefore more bookings!

4. How can you make your home more attractive?

What are we looking for? Life! We’re looking to project ourselves. Imagining yourself on your sofa or sleeping on your comfortable-looking bed. Don’t hesitate to add a few touches of color and life: books, bouquets, fruit baskets… All these details will help travelers imagine themselves in your home. But be careful not to add too many things, especially if you don’t leave them in the apartment. Your host may feel duped.

Now you’re a photo pro for your home! Well done! Don’t hesitate to share with us what helped you the most!
