Welcome to New Yorkthe city that never sleeps
New York is the very definition of difference, diversity, cultural and social mixing. Coming to New York is always an upheaval, whether positive or negative.
This city isn’t for everyone, but it’s still worth a visit once in a lifetime.
Preparing forshock
So for those unfamiliar with the city, America’s business capital is bound to come as a shock. Yes, it’s big, crowded and noisy. You rub shoulders with countless people you’ll never meet again, who don’t even see you. But it’s also an enormous cultural enrichment, the promise of all kinds of activities at any time of day.
Neighborhoods steeped in history, iconic landmarks, world-famous monuments and a passion for coffee and burgers.
Let’s get together and discover a city that we at StyQR are particularly fond of.
Practical informationto visit
Before you start your visit, we recommend that you take a city pass. Depending on your wishes, this will enable you to visit 3 to 5 places at more affordable prices than if you decided to take each ticket independently.
Buildingsas a vantage point
New York is above all its sky-high buildings. Depending on which one you choose, you’ll have a different angle of view.
For example, if you choose to climb to the top of the Empire State Building, you’ll have a central view of the city. If you choose to climb to the top of the Rock then you’ll have a beautiful view of the Empire State Building and Central Park.
Finally, if you choose one of the observatories on the sides of the city, like the Edge, or to the south, like the One World Observatory , then in addition to a view of part of New York, you’ll also have a view of New Jersey just across the Hudson.
Emotionsand history
The Twin Towers memorial is a solemn and historically significant place to visit .
It exudes a sense of calm and emotion that you won’t find anywhere else in the city.
Take a strollthrough the neighborhoods
If you’re looking for a real immersion in New York life, take a stroll through the city’s different neighborhoods.
Whether it’s around Hell’s Kitche, Greenwhich village or Soho to the south, or the slightly more upscale Upper East and Upper West Side neighborhoods on either side of Central Park.
You’ll find yourself repeatedly saying “oh, but it’s just like in the movies”. And it’s true, that’s really the effect it has.
Parksand gardens
For those worried about the lack of greenery, don’t worry. Of course you can’t miss Central Park, and you shouldn’t!
The Belvedere Castle, Turtle Lake and Shakespeare’s old amphitheatre are all part of a visit to this iconic park.
But that’s not all: if you’re looking for a park that’s a little less touristy, take a stroll through Riverside Park. It runs the length of the city from Wall Street to the Bronx, and offers a breathtaking view of the Hudson River.
Finally, walk along the High Line to Chelsea Market. It’s the perfect place to stock up on food and discover small artisan stalls. A particularly pleasant place to be.
Discoverin Brooklyn
Discover Brooklyn and the Williamsburg neighborhood in particular. Famous for its succulent brunches and street art. Brooklyn really is another version of New York.
Sometimes you’d think we were in another city. The best way to get to Brooklyn is to cross the Brooklyn Bridge and enjoy the breathtaking view of downtown.
Do it at night if you have the chance, it’s exceptional.
Forsports fans
New York is a state of mind, a way of life and a passion for sport. So if you’re there for one of the seasons, take in a basketball game at Madison Square Garden. You don’t need to see an NBA game to appreciate the atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the fans.
Or if you prefer baseball, head to Yankee stadium to support the team. Just be prepared because we got caught, a baseball game can last 4 hours.
Avacation atmosphere
And to end on a lazy vacation note, head to Coney Island. It’s the epitome of a seaside amusement park.
Enjoy an ice cream, ride the roller coaster or sunbathe on the beach. Either way, your day is bound to be a success.
One last word of advice before we leave you, New York traffic can be very intense and stressful. The city is extremely well served by metro and bus. Just take a metrocard for simplicity’s sake and you’re all set to explore the city.
We hope this article has been as useful to you as it was to us when we discovered the city. Feel free to use them to enrich your welcome booklet and give you ideas for your next trip 😉.
