Frequently asked questions
How many people can stay in a château rental? It depends on the property. Coislin, in Normandy, sleeps 15 across 9 bedrooms, and the Dordogne château goes up to 17. In the Lubéron, you get 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, enough for a large group without a queue in the morning.
Can you bring your dog? In this selection, only the Dordogne château states that pets are welcome. The other two say nothing on the subject, which does not mean no: ask before you book, never once you have arrived.
Do these châteaux have a pool? Yes, all three do. Coislin has one within its 10 hectare grounds, the Dordogne château has one across its 4 hectares of land, and the Lubéron property has a pool lined with trees.
Is an old château actually comfortable? The two we describe in most detail have been worked on recently: Coislin, a 19th century building, has been renovated, and the Lubéron property fully restored while keeping its period character. That is the first thing to check when comparing châteaux: the date of construction tells you little, the date of the works tells you everything.
