Welcome to Strasbourgthe capital of Alsace
When you think of Strasbourg, you inevitably think of the Christmas market. And it’s true, he’s exceptional. However, the Alsatian capital is also great to discover in spring, and probably a little quieter than during the clamor of the festive season 😊.
Discover Strasbourgwith ease
The big plus is that the city center is on a human scale, making it easy to visit on foot or by bike, thanks to Velhop.
The boat trip is a real plus. For the laziest, yes we see you 😉, or just to find a pretty cool alternative to the standard city tour. You’ll be able to discover Strasbourg from a completely different angle, and pass through several of its main districts, such as the European Quarter and the German Quarter. Tickets can be purchased from Batorama, the Strasbourg boat company, and we advise you to get your tickets early, as they sell out very quickly.

Placesnot to be missed
Visit Strasbourg’s Notre Dame Cathedral. It’s truly an architectural gem and clearly the city’s must-see monument. Take the time to discover its sensational interior! You can even climb a hundred or so steps to reach a platform with a breathtaking view of the city.
The Cave des hospices civils de Strasbourg is another must-see. A selection of Alsace’s finest wines are kept here. In fact, your visit to the town wouldn’t be complete without tasting one of the region’s most famous wines, Gewurztraminer. The visit takes about 1 hour.
La Petite France is Strasbourg’s must-see. In our opinion, this is one of the city’s most beautiful districts. Its half-timbered houses, canals and terraces make you want to stroll around all day! We’re completely out of time.
From here, you’re just a few steps from the Vauban dam and covered bridges. They offer beautiful views of the neighborhood and the rest of the city.
A short (or very long) stop at Place Gutenberg. Depending on what you like, you can spend hours here!
If you’re looking for cool photo spots, Rue du Tonnelet Rouge or Place du Marché Gayot are great.
Culinary specialities
For food lovers, there’s no shortage of specialities: flammekueche or tarte flambée, pretzels or kouglof, the crown-shaped cake with raisins inside.
Stop off at a Winstub, a typical Alsatian restaurant, for a delicious sauerkraut! But Alsace is also a land of distinctive wines, such as Gewurztraminer, and cheeses like Munster!
If you had any doubts, we can reassure you that you won’t die of hunger or thirst in Strasbourg 😉.
If you’ve got a bit of time left, do a little bit of the wine route. The scenery is truly breathtaking. Many vineyards to discover and many tastings to enjoy.
