Welcome to Praguethe golden city
Prague really is Europe’s must-see capital.
Exceptional value for money, breathtaking architecture and history, and a whole host of great places to eat.
Visit
For practicality, we really recommend the City pass. It’s valid for 30 days and gives you discounts in stores as well as a guided tour of the old town, a 1h cruise and entrance tickets for the city’s most popular tourist attractions.
If you’re really into guided tours, you can also take an ultra-complete 3h tour of the city for free. All you have to do is book your place on the civitatis website.
Startthe tour
The ideal starting point for a visit to the city is the Place de la Vieille Ville. Many colorful buildings, overlooked by the Cathedral of Notre Dame du Tyn, are the perfect introduction to what the city has to offer.
Pont-St Charles is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. It offers one of the most beautiful sunrises. Old town square is best enjoyed early in the morning, in the bridge suite, as it’s devoid of tourists, and that’s where you’ll get the most out of it.
As well as being surrounded by all those orange rooftops, a stroll through Prague also means discovering neighborhoods of all kinds.
Visit
The Prague Astronomical Clock is one of the city’s must-see monuments . If you’re not afraid of heights, climb to the top for a breathtaking view of Prague. We sincerely hope that this will not be under construction during your trip.
Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral are also among the city’s cultural highlights. Don’t miss the Alchemists’ Alley with its small, colorful houses. And continue your tour of this district with a visit to Prague’s street art scene and the John Lennon Wall.
Activitiesnautical
For lovers of water sports, don’t hesitate to make a detour to the Ile des Archers.
Paddleboarding, pedal-boating, it’s a great place to spend a good time just hanging out and having a laugh.
Celebrate
There are plenty of good places to go in this lively capital.
If you have the chance, and if it’s something you enjoy, then make the most of an evening of dancing. Prague has nothing to envy other capitals when it comes to partying.
Local specialities
When it comes to gastronomy, Prague, like many large cities, offers a particularly wide choice of restaurants and good addresses. We leave it up to you to choose your own.
Nevertheless, you can’t spend a few days in the Czech capital without tasting the famous Trdenilk. It’s a brioche baked in embers and then rolled in sugar, hazelnut or cinnamon. Delicious!
And if we can only recommend one café, then go to the Grand Café Orient for a good cup of coffee and a typical pastry.
Historicaland cultural tours
If you’re looking for history and culture, then you must visit the Jewish quarter of Josevof.
Today, it’s a chic district full of hotels and small boutiques, but many years ago it could be said to have been the ghetto, where the city’s entire Jewish population was concentrated.
We also recommend a visit to Petrin Hill and a climb to the top of its observation tower. Here too, a beautiful view of Prague awaits you.
Take a strollthrough the narrow streets
Finally, let yourself be carried away by its small streets to discover more traditional districts, less touristy but full of authenticity.
Prague is the perfect mix of the effervescence of a capital city and the authenticity of a village.
Our stroll through Prague ends here, and we hope we’ve instilled in you a taste for discovery. Please share your thoughts with us, we love to hear what you think.
