Welcome to the Centre Val de LoireA vast region rich in activities
Whether you’re a child or an adult, a history buff or a nature lover, you’ll always find something to do.
Atypical cities
For city lovers, you won’t be disappointed. Pass through Ambroise, the jewel of the region, Bourges and its half-timbered houses or Chartes and its sumptuous cathedral.
A true architectural masterpiece, don’t miss it. Take a trip to Orléans too, it’s a great little town, especially in summer. There are many historic towns to discover, and we’ve told you about some of the best-known ones, but let’s go and discover some of the lesser-known ones.
It’s a region steeped in history and monuments.
Troglodyte villages
A little more atypical and really cool, you can visit troglodyte villages.
You know, these dwellings are completely carved out of the rock. There are plenty of them in this region, and it’s a really original place to visit!
We particularly recommend Troo, the capital of troglodytism 😉
DiscoverBeauval zoo
Particularly top activity to do with children, or between adults 😉 : the Beauval Zoo.
It offers a unique experience and immersion with the animals. If you wish, you can even stay overnight. Enjoy a bird show and a gondola ride over the zoo.
That’s where the baby pandas are!
Anature outing
For lovers of greenery, go and recharge your batteries in the Brenne nature park. There are plenty of hiking trails to choose from, as you venture between the park’s various ponds.
Bicycles forsporty types
For the more athletic, or Sunday strollers, it’s possible to cycle the Loire .
It’s a greenway that starts in Saumur and ends in Chambord. A great way to discover all the towns you pass through.
Your taste budswill be delighted
Finally, for wine and food lovers, this is where you’ll find the small town of Sancerre, famous for its vineyards.
Enjoy a glass of wine with Chartres pâté or Tours rillettes. And for dessert, you must try the famous tarte tatin and forestines de Bourge.
We guarantee a true regional immersion 😉.
As you can see, the Centre Val de Loire has something for everyone. Rich in activities, history and nature, it’s a great place to spend a weekend or more 😊
