Welcome to Barcelona, la ciudad de Gaudí
Barcelona is a young, student-filled and wonderfully lively city. All on its own, it brings together pretty much everything we love. A way of life that others can only envy, sunshine all year round and food to die for. If you're with us so far, then let's carry on.
Explore the loveliest neighbourhoods
This really is a city of many faces: every neighbourhood has a story to tell and to uncover. El Born and Montjuïc are less touristy, yet they too are packed with places you shouldn't miss.

Unmissable sights
Each of its landmarks is more surprising than the last. We're thinking in particular of the Sagrada Família, remarkable for its architecture and for its story, left unfinished by its architect. Then there's the famous Park Güell: once again, striking architecture and colours, with views over the heights of the city. It's unusual and original, a world away from the classic monuments, and we love it. You can also admire the many façades designed by Gaudí. The houses can generally be visited, but be prepared for a fairly long wait. Another lovely spot if you want to take in the city from above: El Búnquer del Carmel.
The old town
Wandering through the old town and strolling along its narrow streets is all part of discovering a city. And it has to be said that Barcelona's old town is a real beauty! Do make a small detour via the Plaça Reial to see its handsome palm trees.

A walk along Las Ramblas
Here we're no longer talking about a narrow street, but about 1.2 km of avenue. Las Ramblas is Barcelona's best-known thoroughfare, famous for its little shops, its flower stalls and its huge popularity with visitors. You could call it the heart of the city.
Local recommendations for eating out
And now, how about we talk food? As proud French people, we like to boast about our cuisine, and rightly so. But being good sports, we have to admit that Spanish food is really something. A few local recommendations just for you: Tapas Season and La Tasqueta de Blai. Do let us know what you thought! And finally, don't forget to pop into La Boqueria market. It's bursting with colour and flavour!
