Keen on shopping? You will love Rue Sainte-Catherine, one of the longest shopping streets in Europe. For smarter surroundings, head to the Triangle d'Or with its luxury boutiques and Haussmann-style buildings. And if you are after a one-of-a-kind souvenir, explore the local markets such as Marché des Capucins, a true paradise of regional produce.

Bordeaux is also a city that knows how to celebrate. If you are passing through in June, do not miss the Fête du Vin, an unmissable event for lovers of fine wine. In autumn comes the Marathon du Médoc, a race where sport and tasting combine for a truly unique experience.
