Welcome to London, the "world city"

London is probably one of the most visited capitals in Europe, and rightly so. Whether you are drawn to the history of the British monarchy, the country's offbeat food scene or simply the accent, the British capital is the place to satisfy your curiosity.

Its historic landmarks

London also draws visitors for its remarkable historic landmarks. Our favourite is of course Big Ben, the giant clock at the very heart of London, though we have to admit that Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace are every bit as impressive. All of them are open to visitors: simply book your tickets in advance.

Wandering the streets you know from the screen

Harry Potter fans (and plenty of others) will find the famous King's Cross station here. In the same spirit, Paddington Bear fans will discover the district that bears his name, along with the station and the giant statue inside it. Paddington is a particularly lively area, packed with traditional pubs: perfect if you have a taste for British ale. Stroll around this part of town and you are bound to come across Hyde Park, the largest park in London. Cross it from Paddington and you will end up in the very smart district of Knightsbridge, right in front of the famous Harrods department store.

The two absolute must-sees

Now let's head to the other side of London and talk about two especially well-known spots: London Bridge and the Tower of London. The Tower is also where you can see the Crown Jewels.

The districts not to be missed

Back in the heart of the city, you absolutely must make a detour to two of its best-known spots: Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. Both sit in the City of Westminster and buzz with shops and street life.

Not forgetting Camden Town

To round off our tour of London's districts (and this is by no means an exhaustive list: every neighbourhood deserves a visit), let's talk about Camden Town. It is probably the most offbeat place you will find in the capital. Famous for its huge market and food stalls from every corner of the world, this slightly gothic district is also full of small independent designer shops, souvenir stores and tattoo studios. We recommend going there for the sheer originality of the place: every shopfront is carefully designed, decorated and wonderfully colourful.

Even more to discover

Finally, if you are more interested in activities, food discoveries or traditional and craft pubs, you will not be disappointed either. British charm is likely to win you over, whatever it is that makes you tick. We have deliberately given you just a taste here, especially in this last section, because there is so much to discover that we would rather you made your own unforgettable finds.
