Campsites are increasingly popular. Yet some people still see them as a little old-fashioned. So how do you make your campsite appealing to young people? Here are a few ideas!
Go digital!
This will come as no surprise: to attract the younger generations, you need a digital presence. That comes down to 3 essentials:
1/ A website
You don't need the prettiest or the most expensive website for your campsite. Think simple but strategic. A few practical details about the location, your rates, the activities on offer. You can then add a photo gallery and the option to book online.
2/ A presence on social media
Free and important, it lets you get to know your customers and reach new ones. To begin with, you can create an Instagram page and a Facebook page. Then share photos as they happen, funny stories and customer reviews. Encourage your visitors to post and tag your account to keep your community alive. And if you're short on time, bear in mind that when you post on Instagram there's an option to publish automatically on Facebook too!
3/ A digital welcome book
To welcome your guests properly and keep them coming back, why not go for a digital welcome book ? You can include all the essential information your guests need and take a good number of tasks off your plate.
Add facilities
Here we're thinking more about the physical side of your campsite. Think leisure activities and facilities to add or improve so you can give guests the experience they're after.
Internet access, for instance, is an absolute must, particularly if you welcome guests from abroad. If wifi coverage across the whole site isn't possible, you could set up a "wifi point" where they can come and get online.
You could also put on a few special evenings, themed nights, or simply invest in a bar serving inventive cocktails at the weekend, for example. Another idea is a room where guests can watch the big matches and meet the other people staying on the campsite.
Offer barbecue hire too, for evenings with friends. Or a campfire kit (wood, lighter, marshmallows, and so on).
