If you&#8217;re looking for peace, relaxation and a change of scenery, you&#8217;ve come to the right place! There are numerous nature parks throughout the region. The most impressive of these are the <strong>Vercors<\/strong>,<strong> Puy de D\u00f4me<\/strong> and <strong>Puy de Sancy<\/strong> nature parks, home to the famous Auvergne volcanoes. Many hiking trails make it possible to climb them. You can even fly over them in a hot-air balloon. And let&#8217;s not forget <strong>Le Puy en Velay<\/strong>, famous for being the starting point of one of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>The Chaudeffour valley nature reserve<\/strong>, <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Vanoise<\/strong> <strong>national park<\/strong>, <strong>the Baronnies proven\u00e7ales and Chartreuse nature parks<\/strong> and<strong> the Aravis massif<\/strong> can also be seen in the region.<br \/>\nThanks to its advantageous location, the region boasts many world-famous ski resorts. <strong>Chamonix<\/strong>, <strong>the Mont-Blanc massif<\/strong> with its mythical Aiguille du Midi, as well as numerous resorts in the Alps such as<strong> Les Deux Alpes<\/strong>, <strong>Val<\/strong> <strong>d&#8217;Is\u00e8re<\/strong> and <strong>Alpes d&#8217;Huez<\/strong>. There are <strong>numerous hiking trails<\/strong> such as Le Puy de Montchal and Lac Pavin. Le Puy des Goules and the Sarcoui cave. Les Gardes and Pont du Cantal, to name but a few. <strong>The Ard\u00e8che gorges<\/strong> and its famous Pont d&#8217;Arc are also well worth a visit. There are also family activities such as<strong> the<\/strong> <strong>G\u00e9vaudan park<\/strong> and its many varieties of wolf, or the <strong>Vulcano<\/strong> theme park.<br \/>\nFor history and architecture buffs, the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region has a lot to offer. The region is overflowing with relics from other centuries, such as <strong>the medieval city of P\u00e9rouges<\/strong>, <strong>the fortress of Polignac<\/strong> or, in the same spirit <strong>, the Ch\u00e2teau de la Roche<\/strong>. Then there are <strong>villages that have been completely preserved<\/strong>, such as Lavaudieu, Salers, named after the region&#8217;s cattle breed, and Royat, above Clermont-Ferrand, known as the home of France&#8217;s oldest oak tree.<br \/>\nFor lovers of unusual activities, you can visit<strong> Le Palais id\u00e9al du facteur.<\/strong> It&#8217;s located in Hauterives in the Dr\u00f4me region. It includes<strong> Lyon<\/strong>, France&#8217;s third largest city. We recommend a visit to the old town and its Fourvi\u00e8re Basilica. A few kilometers away, also known as Little Venice, you can visit <strong>Annecy<\/strong>, with its canals and lake. The region is famous for its cheeses, such<strong> as Saint Nectaire<\/strong>, <strong>Fourme d&#8217;Ambert<\/strong> and <strong>Cantal<\/strong>. What&#8217;s more, the region is famous for its hot dishes such as <strong>aligot<\/strong>, <strong>Pot\u00e9e Auvergnate<\/strong> and <strong>brioche de<\/strong> <strong>Saint Genix<\/strong>, which I personally recommend.<br \/>\nThis article would not be complete without mentioning the region&#8217;s<strong> wine heritage<\/strong>. The Rh\u00f4ne Valley is France&#8217;s second-largest wine-producing region, after Bordeaux. Numerous wineries are open to visitors, and a number of wine tours have been set up in the region.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][vc_column_text]Our tour of the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region comes to an end.
